The first Hide-and-Seek dress I made was out of lightweight linen. The fabric choice made it breezy yet substantial enough for everyday use. One of the standout features of this pattern is its clever design—complete with adorable pockets that add both functionality and charm. Plus, the loose fit makes it ideal for active kids who love running around or climbing trees!

Both of my daughters absolutely adore this dress. They appreciate how effortlessly it transitions between playtime and special occasions. And guess what? Even my younger daughter prefers tunics over full-length dresses, so I’ve also created several Hide-and-Seek tunics for her using stretchy knit fabrics. Check out this particular tunic below:
I even crafted one of these tunics for my sweet niece. She picked out the fabric herself, and I happily brought her vision to life. Take a look at how charming it turned out:
As I sat down to write this post, I realized I’d just finished cutting fabric for another Hide-and-Seek dress destined for summertime adventures. This time, I used pink chambray material—a repurposed bedsheet that adds an extra touch of sustainability to the project. Here’s a glimpse:
And yes, there’s more where that came from! I’ve already started planning my next creation. This time, I plan to incorporate some delicate embroidery along the yoke, paired with lilac linen fabric. Exciting, isn’t it?
