It's hard to believe that another season has rolled around already! I'm thrilled to introduce you to our brand-new Lisette collection for Butterick's Spring-Summer 2018 line. As always, there are so many exciting designs to explore, but today, I want to focus on my absolute favorite: Lisette B6561. This pattern has been on my mind for quite some time, and I’m absolutely delighted that we managed to fit two distinct styles into one pattern envelope. I think it offers endless possibilities for customization.
First up, let’s talk about View A—the stunning blue lace top. The moment I envisioned this design, I knew lace was the perfect choice. It features an empire yoke paired with a gathered body and full sleeves, giving it a soft, romantic look. There’s also a simple button-loop closure at the back neck that adds just the right touch of elegance. Trust me, it’s not only beautiful but also super easy to sew. I’ll share my own version with you soon—I’m eager to see what you create as well!

Now, onto View B, which happens to be my absolute dream come true. The fabric choice here is everything—it’s simply divine. This version boasts French darts and adorable tie details at the sleeves, making it feel both chic and playful.

If you’re looking for some fabric and styling inspiration, don’t worry—I’ve done the legwork for you. For View A, the blue lace top, there are countless ways to tweak the design based on your personal taste. While I adore the feminine lace option, I also envision a cooler, more Parisian-inspired Isabel Marant vibe. Perhaps swapping out the lace for ribbons could give the piece a more bohemian flair. Renaissance Ribbons offers some exquisite ribbon options that would add a delightful twist to this style. And if you're feeling extra creative, why not incorporate a few beads? It’s a detail that can elevate the entire look.

When it comes to View B, the emphasis is all about the sleeves. Whether you opt for a ruffled lace sleeve or experiment with a border print along the hem, the possibilities are endless. Take a look at the pink version in the upper right-hand corner—those pintucks are such a fun touch! In my opinion, this style practically screams for silk satin, but it also works beautifully with other flowing fabrics.
