In the first quarter, the export of linen and ramie woven fabrics grew rapidly. What does the industry think?

According to customs statistics, in March, the number of linen and ramie woven fabrics China's exports of 14.92 million meters, exports amounted to about US $ 44.96 million. From January to March, the export volume of linen and ramie woven fabrics in China was 89.63 million meters, an increase of 33% over the same period of last year. From January to March, the export value of linen and ramie woven fabrics in China was about 250 million US dollars, an increase of 32.2% over the same period of last year. How to treat such a rapid rise in the first quarter? To this end, the reporter interviewed the professionals in the hemp textile industry.

For the rapid growth of China's hemp textile exports in the first quarter of this year, Dong Chunxing, president of the China Hemp Textile Industry Association, said that export growth is a big plus for the development of the hemp textile industry this year, but it also needs to see the underlying reasons behind the growth. This time, mainly due to the substantial growth of linen woven fabrics, China's flax industry began to decline in 2016, and the prices are also falling. Under the psychological effect of “buy up and not buy down” in the market, the market is in a wait-and-see stage. Especially from the end of 2016 to the beginning of 2017, the market is in a downturn and enters a low price. Until the end of December 2017, linen yarns began to increase sharply. After the Spring Festival this year, the linen fabric began to increase in price, basically making up for the 2016 decline. At present, the linen industry is in the stage of market recovery.

Zhejiang Jinyuan Flax Co., Ltd. is the world's largest manufacturer of linen yarn. Ren Weiming, chairman of the company, believes that from the market point of view, linen yarn has rebounded from the bottom in the fourth quarter of 2017, and there are unique reasons for entering the rapid correction stage this year. In Europe, there is a tradition of consumption of linen products. ZARA, Uniqlo, H&M and other international fast fashion brands often have new products for linen products in stores. The consumer groups owned by these fast fashion brands in China are increasingly accepting linen products through the storefront. The hemp products have gained more and more recognition from the Chinese consumer market, and the market consumption volume has gradually expanded. At present, China has become one of the major countries in the world for the consumption of flax products. In addition, the entire Asian market represented by India and Japan has become a new growth point for the development of the global flax industry. From the industry point of view, from the 2016 to the third quarter of 2017, due to this round of recovery, labor and capacity problems, the supply of the entire yarn has not increased, but has decreased, thus causing the market to rise.

In response to this round of recovery, Ren Weiming believes that the rebound is too fast, and is accompanied by potential risks. On the one hand, it affects the consumption demand of end products, and overseas orders will be reflected in the second half of the year. On the other hand, the price of flax raw materials in Europe continues to create a record high, and will continue to push up the cost of Chinese linen spinning.

For the market pre-judgment, Ren Weiming said that from the market law, “the price is high, the demand is low, the price is low, and the demand is high”. The linen industry may usher in a new round of market volatility. For enterprises, the pressure will be even greater in the future. Enterprises are still paying close attention to market changes, and will wait until June to make further plans.

In this regard, Dong Chunxing told reporters that China's flax raw materials mainly rely on imports . The world's best quality flax raw materials are mainly concentrated in France, the Netherlands, Belgium and other countries in Europe, and the supply is limited. However, domestic flax cultivation is slow to develop due to factors such as climate, geography and policies, and the quality of raw materials is far less than that of Europe. In the face of the growing consumer demand for international and domestic linen products, only by solving the balance between supply and demand of flax can truly accelerate the development of China's flax textile industry in a healthy and stable direction.

Dong Chunxing said that the problem of raw materials has always been a problem that has plagued the development of China's flax industry. From the source point of view, farmers do not subsidize the cultivation of flax, and the cultivation enthusiasm is not high. Although farmers are subsidized for the cultivation of ramie in some areas, the labor cost of peasants' manual arranging is higher, so the numbness of numbness is less and the enthusiasm for cultivation is not high. However, in Europe, flax has formed mechanized production from seeding to planting to harvesting and hemp, and has a mature sales system.

How to enhance the importance of cultivating high-quality flax fiber in important flax-producing areas in China, such as Heilongjiang and Yunnan, increase government support, use resources efficiently, accelerate the innovation of hemp textile end products, pay attention to the development of domestic demand market, and pay attention to the technological innovation of hemp textile equipment. Standards and so on are the key to cracking the shortage of raw materials.

In response to this problem, a group of linen brands represented by Jinyuan Linen and Xinshen Group use resources efficiently and actively seek breakthroughs. Li Haikang, general manager of Xinshen Group, said in an interview that the traditional market of the flax industry is in Europe, the United States and Japan. With the recent arrival of some international brands in the Chinese market, the sales of flax products have attracted the attention of Chinese consumers, especially In the past five or six years, a number of new consumer groups have been cultivated, especially young people. There is no doubt that China is becoming the largest potential stock in emerging markets.

In order to seize the growth opportunities of the emerging consumer market, in recent years, Xinshen Group has also closely integrated the “three products” strategy with enterprise development and actively explored differentiated production and innovation. Li Haikang said that Xinshen Group actively develops characteristic hemp products with cultural connotations, participates in important activities such as China International Fashion Week, China International Textile Fabrics and Accessories Expo, and promotes the promotion and promotion of linen products and culture. At the same time, we will carefully support the maker group and make a useful attempt to open up the innovation of linen products. Through three years of cultivation, by the end of last year, Xinshen Group has successfully incubated five large-scale makers of the company. Last year, the sales of the products reached 50 million yuan, effectively avoiding the single product innovation being quickly imitated by others. This can actively respond to market volatility and better grasp the market initiative.
